Garden no. 02-07 Location; Ljubno ob Savinji, Slovenia Client; private Area; 2000 m2 Project; 2005 Construction; 2008 Project team; Landscape architecture; Matej Kučina Tanja Maljevac, Luka Vidic Architecture; Marjan Poboljšaj, Tonček Žižek, Meta Žebre (Superform) The garden is planned tectonically, with fixed strips arranged in broken lines to produce a parterre in front of the house. The lines of these strips follow the flowing water of the adjacent stream, and so generate the topography and shape of the garden, from the entry at the decorative parterre, across the wooden terraces of the residential garden to the natural ecological part of the garden, in a way that deliberately disguises the boundaries. In this way it is a three-part project from the abstract-artificial programme-intensive next to the building and natural-ecological part to the south. The residential garden is designed as a folded wooden plateau that descends to the brook in terraces. The tectonic broken wooden surfaces bring the necessary dynamics into this long and relatively flat area.
