Rocks
From one pile to another
The house is in a beautiful location, on a hilltop in Slovenian Istria, with stunning views of the Slovenian coast, Venice and the Alps. The plot however is very steep and practically useless for a residential garden. We proposed an arrangement of terraces that would allow the implementation of a functional residential garden. As a result, it turned out that a huge amount of material is needed to fill the terraces.
At the same time, in the vicinity, was another project already in construction, where we were working – the Markovec motorway tunnel. Since the two locations were only 5 km apart, we agreed with the tunnel construction site to transport the excavated material directly to our construction site, where the terraces were constantly formed by machine. We can call this a lucky circumstance or smart recycling, whichever, for the project and the client it was a win-win situation.
